Quy Hop is a mountainous district in the north-west of Nghe An province. It borders on Quy Chau district to the north, Tan Ky and Anh Son districts to the south, Nghia Dan district to the east, Con Cuong and Quy Chau districts to the west. Established in 1963 on the basis of the separation of 10 communes. This is a UNESCO-listed district in the Western Biosphere Reserve of Nghe An Province.
